Compare cost per 100 ml of absorption, not cost per piece.
Two diapers at different prices are usually not the same product at different margins — they are different products. Here is the arithmetic we use, published, so you can argue with numbers instead of adjectives.
Three steps, and you can audit any quote
We do not publish a price list, because a piece price without its spec is a guess dressed up as a number. We publish the method instead — run it on our quote and on every competing quote you have.
Ask what the absorption is
Every quote we send states the absorption figure for that exact spec, per size. If a supplier cannot give you the number, the comparison has already failed.
Divide the piece price by it
FOB per piece, divided by absorption, is cost per millilitre — one denominator for ours and theirs. It is the only figure that puts two factories on the same line.
Compare like with like
Same size, same pieces per pack, same Incoterm. Change any one of them and you are no longer comparing products, you are comparing sentences.
Want the sheet for your spec? It comes with the quotation, priced against your own size and pack count.
The three tiers, in words
| Tier | What it is for | What to plan for |
|---|---|---|
| Economy | Daytime use, price-sensitive shelves, high-turnover packs | Lightest core of the three. Ask for the absorption figure before you print any performance claim on the bag. |
| Standard | Day and night in one SKU — the tier most distributors settle on | Sits between the other two on both cost and absorption, which usually makes it the easiest one to defend on shelf. |
| Overnight | Night use, long wear, tender-skin positioning | Heaviest core and the highest piece price of the three. Check it per millilitre before you dismiss it as the expensive option. |
The freight nobody puts in the quote
Diapers are bulky. Freight per piece is one of the largest lines in your landed cost, and it is decided by packing and pallet pattern — not by the product.
- It matters more on long routesAfrica, Middle East and South America lanes carry the higher freight rates, so everything you pack into the container is worth more.
- The change is bag shape and stackingNo product change and no extra tooling. We adjust the bag format and the cartons per pallet.
Price steps by container volume
Indicative structure. Real numbers depend on spec and print, and are confirmed in the quotation.
| Annual volume | Price basis | Payment | Extras included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trial — 1×20GP | List price | 30% deposit / 70% against B/L copy | Free samples, standard artwork |
| Regular — 1×40HQ / month | Volume discount quoted per container | 30% deposit / 70% against B/L copy | Free artwork revisions, loading photos |
| Programme — 4+ containers / month | Fixed price for a locked quarter | 30/70, volume terms negotiable | Dedicated batch scheduling, priority loading |
| Contract — annual volume commitment | Fixed-price window | 30/70, annual terms negotiable | Reserved capacity, joint spec development |
Price hold. For programme customers we hold the quoted price for a defined window and share raw-material index movements in advance — so a SAP price spike does not arrive as a surprise surcharge at loading.
What your piece actually costs when it lands
FOB is not your cost. Duty, freight, clearance and inland transport are. Ask us for the landed-cost sheet with your quote — we will fill in the freight and FOB parts, you add duty and local charges.
Ask for the landed-cost template. We send an editable sheet with your quotation. Fill in your duty rate and local charges and you have the real number per piece — the only number that decides your margin.
| Cost line | Who provides |
|---|---|
| FOB / piece | Us |
| Ocean freight / piece | Us (from your nominated port) |
| Insurance | Either side, per Incoterm |
| Import duty & VAT | You — we supply the HS code |
| Clearance & inland haulage | You |
| Registration fees (NAFDAC etc.) | You — we supply documents free |
